 
Cathy Newson's love of photography began with her first Kodak Instamatic camera in photography's hometown of Rochester, New York. She grew up surrounded by family & friends who loved & appreciated photography, and often learned more from them than through formal instruction.
Cathy moved to Washington, DC after college, where she worked in politics & publishing for more than 20 years. She continued to pursue her photography on the side, freelancing when time permitted. She also traveled extensively, capturing the country's regional flavor & colors along the way. 
After spending many happy summers & holidays along the New England coast, Cathy & her husband Graham bought a place of their own in MidCoast Maine. Now year-round residents of Bath, Cathy finds constant inspiration in the changing seasons, picturesque towns & harbors, and bold coastline of Maine. Cathy has exhibited her work at juried art festivals around the Northeast & Mid-Atlantic region, as well as through local art clubs, co-ops & galleries. She looks forward to reaching a wider audience through the internet. Cathy's photographs are available as matted prints, framed prints, & notecards. Cathy Newson has recently joined CHR Realty/GMAC Real Estate in Bath as a licensed REALTOR® and looks forward to helping others find their dream home in the MidCoast region.
